Main Division
Dance Training for Ages 9–18
Where strong foundations become confident, expressive dancing.
Main Division is where dancers begin taking greater ownership of their training. Through thoughtful, curriculum-based classes, individual attention and consistent progression, dancers build technique, strength, artistry and confidence at their own pace.
Whether dance is something they love doing each week or something they hope to pursue more seriously, there is room to grow here.
Growth, Not a Race
In our Main Division, placement is based on technique and readiness rather than age alone. Dancers typically spend two to three years within a level as they move through three important stages of growth.
Spark
Learning new vocabulary, technique and movement patterns.
Work
Building the strength, coordination and muscle memory to execute those skills consistently.
Confidence
Refining technique, developing artistry and learning to dance with greater confidence.
Moving through each stage matters. We want dancers to enter their next level prepared not only to do more, but to feel successful doing it.
So Many Ways to Dance
As dancers progress, they can explore a wide range of styles and supplemental classes while continuing to build a strong technical foundation.
- Ballet
- Pre-Pointe
- Pointe
- Jazz
- Tap
- Acro
- Force Fusion
- Hip Hop
- Contemporary
- Variations
Training That Builds Over Time
Progress happens class by class. Dancers are challenged appropriately for their level while receiving the corrections, repetition and individual attention they need to keep moving forward.

Performance Is Part of the Experience
Main Division dancers have opportunities to perform throughout the year, including our December production and June year-end show. Additional community performances may also be offered during the season.
Performance gives dancers the opportunity to bring their training to the stage, build confidence and experience the excitement of being part of a production.
Participation is always optional.

More Than a Place to Take Class
As dancers grow, so do the friendships and connections they make at the studio. Main Division dancers have opportunities throughout the year to connect outside of class through studio parties, challenges and special events.
For many of our dancers, The Ballet Center becomes a second home—a place where they feel supported, encouraged and inspired.
