General Information
The Ballet Center is a progressive, performance-based dance studio located in Bristol, Rhode Island. We proudly offer dance training in a safe and trusting environment thereby helping each student be the best dancer thrive.
Our studio has three divisions: Young Dancer, Main, & Adult.We offer classes in classical ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, and contemporary. Dance classes are available for children as young as 3 and all the way up through adult. In addition to offering the highest quality dance education by our amazing Faculty, The Ballet Center takes great pride in balancing quality with fun events throughout the year such as seasonal parties, spirit weeks and challenges!
In the summer we offer Summer Dance Workshops during which students can explore dance styles as well as several fun Dance Camps, full and half day.
Performances at The Ballet Center
The Ballet Center prides itself in the professional quality of its performances. The culmination performance held in June showcases our entire student body and all of our dance styles. Past performances include Jaimie and The Giant Peach, Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, Les Sylphides, Coppelia, Snow White, Gaite Parisienne, Pictures at an Exhibition, La Bayadere: Kingdom of the Shades, Cinderella, The Sleeping Beauty Act III, Spartacus, The Wizard of Oz, Harry Potter, Alice in Wonderland, Thumbelina and Peter Pan! We encourage responsible participation thereby ensuring that all our dancers have an enjoyable performing experience.
The Nutcracker
Every other year, The Ballet Center produces the full-length holiday ballet, The Nutcracker. All classical students in the leveled ballet classes (including Fancy Feet/level 1) are able to participate in this wonderful performance opportunity. Performing in full-length ballets gives the students much more than dance experience, they learn about acting, mime, team work, and commitment. We charge a show participation and fee for this performance, which includes costume rental, thereby keeping performing costs down for our dance families.
The Holiday Show
In addition to our Nutcracker we produce a Holiday Show showcasing our non-ballet styles such as Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop and Contemporary in an exciting holiday variety production! All children enrolled in Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Contemporary or Combo dance classes perform in our Holiday Show. Rather than overwhelming our youngest dancers, our Combo dance classes perform one style. Dancers always have the choice to opt out of one, or all, of the numbers in which they have been cast. We charge a show participation and fee for this performance, which includes costume rental, thereby keeping performing costs down for our dance families.
